  1. Nice!
    What year are they though?
They have changed for the better in the last couple of years.
Get on them Spanglish. Interseting they note that they are one of the lightest carbon clinchers but don't tell you the weight?!

  2. Just confirmed, these are the current ones/better ones.
    I don't need another set.
Even if you purchased them Spanglish, you could re sell them in a couple of months/spring for around the same.

  3. Found these, interesting to see what they go for.

They are heavy 1740 grams. Good for beach road but hard work in the hills.

  4. 1740 is Mavic claim, willing to bet they are a tad higher. No money for bike parts at the mo. Cipo has them on his Giant. They do sound good on the move.

  5. Have you had a ride of them yet?
Also, I assume you have researched into the whole aerodynamics, from memory, they are only an advantage once you get over 32? km/hour. Is this correct?

  6. Ahh, Thanks for that GG, almost 60% off Retail? Weight Saving is all in your head, but agree they do sound great and help once you get some momentumn beyond 40kph, just not too sure about the westerlies back along Beach Rd? Yet to blow/explode a tyre at speed but assure it wont be nice.

  7. you get about 1km/h after about 42-5km/h... many seem to regard it more as a saving of watts, that is, a pro cyclist riding on those wheels for a stage, ie 5-6 hours is saving 10-15 watts all the time, adds up to quite an energy saving, even more so in a 3 week tour. However, 45 mins on Beach Rd... well the figures don't add up. BUT as always there's the wow factor!!!

Of course, if you can get the lightweight one$$ then you can have your cake and eat it.

Notice, loads of people in the peleton in the Giro are using them even on todays bumpy stage. Interestingly, the aero advantage is greatest at the front wheel, as the wind hitting the back wheel has been affected by all that went before it. Really, if they read up a bit it would be 50/80 on the front and what ever you like on the back.
