There's only one tour ...

There is only one tour in the world that would pride itself on pure punishment.

That, over 15 stages, would add 9 over 200km and throw in 26 categorized climbs.

That would prompt a former Tour De France winner to exclaim "I don't think I've ever seen stages so long, so hard and so spectacular in all my many years as a pro!"

That would consider this individual time trial humane ...

That would dress it's tour leader in pink!

That would even consider adding the Zoncolan climb that averages 11.5% over 10.5km including 1km of climb just under 20%. Then add it after 154km of racing.

There's only one tour ...

The Giro!!!

  1. With you Deez, however after last stage, perhaps Contador was right in saying how dangerous it is?

  2. Its amazing there aren't more accidents. If you explained the theory to someone for the first time:
"here's an idea, I'll get some 23mm rubber, form it into a tube, stick it to a wheel, put loads of air into it and then YOU can ride down a mountain on it at a speed you know will break all your bones"... and that's why I don't like descending, as statistics only tell one side of the story, the other side can't be told as YOU are the statistic!
