BBTT 1/20 Scratch Race

7 comments:

  1. To celebrate the occasion of the some hairy and some shaved men wearing matching attire for the first time, the inaugural BBTT 1/20 scratch race was held.

    Handicaps were based roughly on pb's with a goal to have everyone finising together as follows;

    Basso, Sleepy Scratch
    Hamster 1 min
    Skywalker 1.5 mins
    Muppet, Potter 2.5 mins
    Connor, Doc 5 mins

    Cipo Aleady at Olinda (couldn't wait for Hamsters flat tire or Doc to double back after a km and collect his water bottle from his ute)

    To cut a long story short (sorry Mechanic), Basso did a PB of 16 mins 20 sec and won easy from Hamster, Doc and Sleepy. It was a lot of fun for us back markers picking off light blue jersey one by one up the climb.

    On the descent, a blur of light blue flashed past with cipo, sleepy, hamster and muppet sharing the spoils.

  4. Everyone finished within 2 mins. Connor, Muppett and Potter weren't in the racing mood, with Connor managing to convince us all to head straight to Ripe for a coffee in our team lycra rather than do another crescent.

  5. Connor is a good man like that. Love his work.
    That's a good way of doing it as we are all different speeds. Namely me down the back of a climb. That way you faster guys don't have to wait as long at the top. Wow. So given what you said you all got up in under 23 minutes. In that case I will need more then 5 minutes. Especially if I look at the trees and view on the way up.

  7. Probably back into it in Winter. Enjoying the MTB too much. And I'm a fat bastard that would stuggle to hold on with the climbs.
    Let me know if we have a group BBTT down on beach road.
