On Sunday, in unremarkable overcast conditions 3 men dragged their weary arses out of bed (not very early) to create history....almost!!! Despite being ravaged by man flu and a general lack of fitness Connor, Luke and Muppet combined to set an average speed of 38.6km/h on the return leg from Mordy to Racer....we were actually on track to go 40km/h+ until the last few kilometres where we were stopped by every single red light known to man...OK there was a moderate tail wind but we were still hammering it...people were cheering us loudly as we pulled into Racer...it was a humbling experience.
Some repairs needed for the BIanchi. Sheered the thread on stem and ordered the elementi newton(wanted that and the bars for years so happy for the justification). Not sure how long it's been like that but noticed it using my new wiz bang torque wrench. Pretty happy it didn't reveal itself hitting a small bump in the road coming down the Stairway to Heaven.
Three days off work and can't take the road bike out. Hopefully supplies arrive soon. Impressive but I'm afraid the Mordy loop requires an in-out time in order to be recognised by the UCI. You can register your full efforts on BBTT - the official Mordy loop timetrial website.
I know your the mechanic, however if you don't, when the torque wrench is not in use, set it to the lowest setting. Apparently they work on a type of spring mechanisum and after a while go out of "wack" if left done right up all the time. Secondly, if left on the lowest setting if next time you use it without checking, you won't break anything by overtightning it. Thirdly, I can't spell. Like the idea of TT website. Need to set some rules as noted. Needs to be a loop? Break between the loop?

Break between the loop?
All noted on instructions however I think I overtightened on a King Lake ride before STH with Spanglish and the Beverly Hill Billies.
ReplyDeleteTT times are all inclusive. Therefore loops include breaks. Stage rides are ride time a la GC.
