Just passing this on from Audax Australia in the event some of you happen to find yourselves in France and are in the market for some endurance pain:
Paris-Brest-Paris: it's time to pre-register...
Undoubtedly, you are all still riding hard in preparation for the 120thanniversary edition of Paris-Brest- Paris. Now it's time to get off the bike and go to your keyboard for the next step on the path to Paris - pre-registration of your intention to ride.
Pre-registration starts on 3 April for riders who have completed a 1000 or 1200 km brevet in the 2009/10 riding season. All the information you need can be found on the PBP pre-registration page (http://bit.ly/ezmyOb).
For other distances ridden during 2009/10, pre-registration opens on: 17 April 600 km 1 May 400 km 15 May 300 km 29 May 200 km
Homologation numbers for Perth-Albany-Perth 1200, Sydney-Melbourne Alpine 1200, and Hobart-Marrawah-Hobart 1200 can all be found on the Les Randonneurs Mondiaux website (http://bit.ly/fmyHDX).
For 200km to 1000km BRM events, if you have not received back the brevet card for your longest 2009/10 BRM event please contact Simon Watt (brevets@audax.org.au) who will be able to advise the homologation number.
Rider licence number is not required for riders whose affiliation is 'foreign' (i.e. non-France)
Reflective vests which conform to a European Standard will be required for riding at night and in conditions of reduced light. This is French road law (not an ACP regulation) and will be enforced.
To help ensure compliance, ACP has organised a special PBP reflective vest (http://bit.ly/f3hldR). These vests can only be ordered when you register and you are strongly advised to buy one.
Please also note that if you are planning to drive in France, you will have to carry a high visibility vest in the car (http://bit.ly/gdFhpA).
Special Audax Australia PBP jerseys have been designed and orders will open shortly. Please note that the cut off date for placing an order will be in early May. You should expect to receive your jersey by 1 July.
You will shortly receive an email with the link to an order form for the jersey and the bag drop
