Had a spanglish morning yesterday and the recent sustained cold whether (and broken ducted heating) must have frozen the wheels. Anyway dragged myself out of bed at 6.45am after watching the tour to the end, pumped up the tubes and pop goes weasel. 10 min to change and on the road running 15 mins late for BTs street and looking to chase down the boys. After 5km there's another big snap and broke a spoke on the rear wheel. Called Tanya who collected me and back home by 8am. Piss farted around for 10 mins and decided to take out the Trek (2nd bike) for a trip to nongs. With plenty of frustration managed to pump out 60km to top of 1/20 and back in 2 hours 15 mins and was back home by 10.30. Think I owe Tanya a few coffees for this one.
Got back from England yesterday..watched the tour up till Armstrong's 50th crash...went to sleep...arose to watch Spain beat the Dutch...rode to work and by 10.30 frankly I wish I hadn't!
Will be having to work off some European cuisine over the next few weeks, no doubt in poor weather.
Congrats on the wogball win Spanglish, great game, well deserved victory, although your compatriots were pumping their horns all night here in Lucerne which was most inconsiderate for my sleeping requirements...the Texan is screwed and i hope i'm wrong but i suspect Cadel is going to be a puppet in the bouncing canary's game plan...let the little aussie champ battle it out with young schlecky for the next week and then open up a can of whiparse on them both in the Pyrenees, I reckon he let Andy & dirty Sanchez go on purpose yesterday...but fear not look out for skywalker, deezmon (and possibly Conner & muppet) prowling the mountains in Aussie colours armed with spanish booby traps to upset the Wimbledon, WC, TdF treble for the armada....forza Cadel!!!!
Luke. Did a ride with the Lezignan cycling club on 4th July. Lezignan-Cuxac-Minerve-Ferrals les Montagnes-Calamiac-Lezignan. 130kms. LOOK bike. Some of the French roads are narrow with blind corners and tarmac that make our roads look good. But the view and the 'drop-offs' on some of the descents are awesome. First stop: baguette/pate, fruit, water and WINE!!! Shrek v Canary with the others fighting for the minors.
I am going to get some pics together later and also work out the Spanglish Tour 2012 (Stelvio/D'heuz/Ventoux/Pyrenees
Also, we drove through Andorra to Ax le Thermes which was also amazing, almost every road in that area is a climb!
Oh, listen to my continental friends. Pity we won't be seeing anything british holding back the spanish armada just a little nugget in a speed boat and adrug fiend who throws bikes further than he rides them. As for Aussies. Yes Luke, (canary bouncing = canary playin with ya') Unlike our Aussie battler, the canary knows how to keep the yellow gersie off ya back untill you don't want to let it go.
The aussiebattler got spanked last night, and plenty others were looking like they were in another race. I'm not sure 'he let it go' he may have to mail it to the others from where he is!
At one point it was interesting to see Basso/Lance riding together, the front of the Tour from 2005, 3 minutes from the front of the Tour now.
