My bicycle [Fiat] is the narrow connection between sky and earth. When I spin my legs in the air the world seems infinite, and I realise I can see everywhere and everything. It is my song of freedom. When I ride the world looks so far away, I cannot even hear its noise. When I take to the road, I listen only to my Bianchi/Fiat [edit]. It speaks to me in silence. It tells me a tale of the great passion between a bike and its rider. It is the passion that makes your bike a natural extension of your body and of your dreams, a tangible pieace of your own identity. The passion turns fatigue into joy, monotony into contemplation, having into being. It is the passion of the soul, between heart and mind, that gives new shape to an anciet ritual. My bike[Fiat] is the vessel of an abiding love. It has passed through the hands of the watchful craftsmen of iron and emotion, and those hands have put the fruit of passion within the tubes of the frame. I do not exist without my passion I can not live without my road and my bike.

It now makes sense and things can never be the same. Sorry my ten gallon friend. You must have meant "It's not JUST about the bike."
I take the liberty of editing the prayer only because ny Fiat is actually only an extension of my bike like your favourite cap. No offense intended, Dario.
Two alloy frames, one replaced the other. Practical, one newer one replaced the other old one.
White wheels are the trailer trash of wheelsets, the BRITNEY SPEARS!
I was thinking of the same pearl white of the car on the frame, silver/black elsewhere, Italian World Champ stripes on the top of the rear stays. Expect to see the finished article by next Wednesday!
Feeling very spiritually about this means I think you can define passion for yourself. Practicaility and performance would have us all on the same american frame.
White wheels might be trailer trash but if they're DT Swiss they might indeed be Britney in all her infamy and desire.
Shit your deep for a mechanic! To much for my brain to absorb. Especially since I just got off the MTB. It has DT Swiss. Does that help? Have a good weekend.
Mega jealous Georgie, the 500 is a work of art...bellissimo!!!, You really do need a new bike for the roof now, I don't think the homebrand black and gold Bianchi is going to cut the mustard for too much longer. I reckon one of those Colnago jobbies should suffice, just tell wifey the Fiat dealer threw it in as an optional extra.
Oh yes. Fellas, the ultimate bike accessory. I'll have you know the Bianchi only fails in its mass availability however it is a hand made carbon frame of Bianchi's - at the time - most advanced nano fibres and resin....having said that, I'm worked on it but - my wife being the designer and fashion victim - you have hit the nail on the head...I WILL need a bike to match. My only fear is that I might be tempted to put the bike in the back and kids on the roof. Basso, yes, the tool box compartment is what you might refer to as "front seat". Although it fits Spanglish in the back and mechanic in the front. Picture this...half a dozen customised Fiats heading in convoy out to Geelong.
Am anxious to carry bike out to Seimens but alas, Very bad cold so not sure I'll get out at all. So when is Luke heading out to the nearest Casati dealer (SA I think) with mortgage papers signed?
Bruto! I think you're heralding the arrival of my liitle car and something about not getting up Teddy like a scooter but 20l/100km makes up for it????
When do you take delivery of the rest of it?

Looks great, now get that frame repainted to suit.
ReplyDeleteSo that proves that cycling is about passion and not just wheels etc? Ha Ha
ReplyDeleteSo three alloy frames, is that not passion?
Nice work Geroge.
Good call Spanglish.
ReplyDeleteI have seen so some sweet looking wheels getting around in white. Red nipples and then some green on the frame? Or even the bianchi green?
